About us

We are Dave and Lynda. We retired in 2021, sold everything, bought a boat, and are in the process of sailing around the world.

This is our floating home, a 2022 Leopard 45 sailing catamaran. She has 3 cabins and 3 heads (bathrooms), though one cabin is used for storage and one head is for our scuba gear.

She is very comfortable for a full-time live-aboard couple with occasional guests. Capable of long passages and spending weeks at remote anchorages away from civilization. Our ticket to paradise.

This is our dinghy, Babe. She is basically our car, allowing us to get from the boat to shore or to a dock. Sometimes to a friend's boat. She is more than capable of transporting the 2 of us and our 3 dogs. Or 5 people. Or 3 people with scuba gear. Maybe 4 with snorkel gear. You get the idea.

She is powered by an electric outboard motor. Not exactly fast, but quick enough for us most of the time.

We are the owner/operators of SV Away To Me. Old enough to know better, but young enough and healthy enough to do it anyway. Retired and ready to take a nap, just because we can. Or go scuba diving. Fresh lobster, anyone?

Beau is our old man, often grumbling at Moss to "get off my lawn". He likes a little more personal space.

Reece is the middle Boater Collie. A reliable time-keeper when it comes to meals. Prefers to pre-breathe the air for you and lick your ears.

Moss is the puppy of the gang. Effervescent and enthusiastic in all things. Wants to know where you've hidden the ball PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF DOG THROW THE BALL BEFORE HE EXPLODES...
