Approaching Great Inagua
Today has been completely uneventful as we motor sail to the anchorage at Great Inagua. Not much wind, no swell, no fishing. Just eating, sleeping, and keeping watch at the helm. Sometimes, uneventful is good.
On this passage, something else uneventful happened: we surpassed 5000 nautical miles on board SV Away To Me.
Technically, Lynda is about 120 nautical miles short of this, since she missed the trip from Key West to Ft Lauderdale.
But also technically we both have hundreds of extra miles on board other boats. So, no matter how you slice it, we have earned barn swallow tattoos.
It's kind of a silly, arbitrary milestone. But looking back at all of the experiences that are encompassed in those miles, it strikes me as being so very meaningful.
