Goodbye Guadeloupe, good day Dominica
We had a great time with friends in Guadeloupe! It seems like 3 weeks went by in the blink of an eye.
We went scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, played with pups on the beach, met friends new and old, and played Mexican Train Dominoes with friends. And we ate so much good French and Caribbean food!
Yesterday, we checked out of Guadeloupe, and this morning we sailed to Dominica. It was a sporty sail, with winds and waves higher than forecast, but it was refreshing to move without the engines on.
Checking in was easy enough, the vet had a look at the pups and gave us the permit, along with a bunch of great info about the island and history, things to do and things to avoid.
The island is beautiful, with tall peaks shrouded in cloud.
Tonight we are attending a local BBQ for dinner, and then tomorrow morning we are doing a river tour. We've been told to bring cameras to get some pictures of the stunning views.
Our friends on SV Kaimana only have 3 days here before they need to move on to Martinique to pick up visitors, so it's going to be an action packed 3 days with them.
We have 3 weeks here, so the rest of the time should be paced out a bit more, but we have lots of plans!
