Sunset

The sea state ended up being very rough today, if the VHF radio chatter is any indication. One boat turned around and came back to hide from the wind and waves after getting an early start.

Two others talked about reefing (reducing the sail area to decrease the forces on the sails and rigging) and changing course to keep from getting beaten up so much.

Needless to say, we stayed put. I woke up early, checked the forecast and current conditions, and said "nope". Not worth it.

The swell in the anchorage was choppy enough that we didn't even launch the dinghy. No trip to the beach for the pups today. They are very sad face.

We are getting a bit of a sunset tonight, but it's very hazy with lots of clouds.

Conditions in the anchorage

Thankfully Away To Me, being a catamaran, is fairly stable in these conditions.

Tomorrow, the forecast (for what it's worth) says that the winds and sea state should be much more favorable for making our way to New Providence Island. I'll believe it when I see it.
